It is wonderful to see such beautifully colourful sweaters about at the moment, including this one called Simultaneous Sweater. The astonishing thing I find with this one, as someone fascinated by colours, is how your eyes deceive you into thinking there are more colours involved than just the 4 colours that are used in the pattern. Just looking at the orange band it looks like 2 shades of orange, but it is just one. Love, love LOVE it. I see this pattern in my future.

I explained that this was unlikely as the driver only came once a day. They insisted it would arrive by 7.00 and if it didn't to contact them again.

Knowing when I was beaten I gave up the discussion. After our "chat" ended I received this message from the person manning the chat :

One of the drawbacks of living where we do is when a business says "it will be delivered the next day" we generally know it won't be. Today only part of an order from Ikea arrived, and despite the delivery driver checking over his van to make sure there wasn't a 2nd box, we had to resign ourselves to the fact that only half the order had arrived.
After a very long wait to "talk" to Ikea I eventually spoke to a human who assured me the rest of the order would be delivered by 7.00pm today.

I have a huge spider in my workshop. His name is Frederick. But I'm curious - he never seems to move much. Is that normal for spiders? Every morning he is in the same place and doesn't seem to move during the day. Could he be nocturnal and then just returns to the same spot each day as the sun rises?

Had to do "a thing" today and it is surprising how unsettling it can be to do something that many would take in their stride but which certainly isn't run of the mill for me.

I may need a lie down now, or a rather large G&T

Well, I can tell you this - his cuts and bruises are multiplying so I'm assuming it is going well.

Seriously though - it is beginning to really take shape and it is starting to look good, and feel very different too. It is hard to put your finger on why that should be but it does.

You really do risk your car, your sanity, and your health if you drive our single track road at around 10.00am when all the campsites empty of campervans.

I grumble about post within the UK (not our local posties, I hasten to add - they're all fab) but I sent a registered, tracked letter to Australia on the 10th June. It was going to Perth, but was sent via Sydney where it arrived on the 18th June, but it did not arrive with the recipient until 22nd July!

As it was a legal document, I had to verify this morning that I was still alive as the paperwork had arrived outwith the required period of time.
