I really feel that getting to see the brewers eliminate the dodgers was witnessing history in the making. especially because who knows what will happen in the off season now

Finally it's time to read a book (real paper 😉 thanks to @pluralistic )
Together with a perfect Russian Imperial Stout by Midtfyns Bryghus it seems a good start into the weekend. Kona (calicocat) is purring to the right 😻.
I wish you all a wonderful and peaceful evening!

Edit: in the picture you may recognise, the label of the bottle is printed with #braille . I can't read it, but here a shout-out for the brewery to exercise #inclusion #inklusion

Is Visionquest good enough to justify me subscribing to Disney+?

I truly do not understand why GOT would do a spinoff about some dumb knight that is hardly mentioned in the original series. No, I don't read the books. I mean, I understand why they did incest dragons, but this makes no sense. Make one about Arya's adventures. I'd watch that. Haha.

my senior year of (public) high school, a gates foundation grant secured funding to install a 360-degree camera in the back of my AP calc class in order to record class sessions for later analysis in order to optimize student outcomes. thanks to budget cuts the previous year, the class had 41 students in it. everything i’ve learned and observed about american ed-tech since has basically been a series of variations on this

I agree that imperial units are silly and we should probably run on metric for lots of practical reasons. But you gotta admit that they're a fun discussion prompt for trivia; everybody thinks there's an internal logic but it's just all weird history! For example nobody's gonna believe that it's just a weird coincidence that a Zacharia is slightly *less* than half of a Scaramucci

I really appreciate this post — both the specific point it’s addressing, and the larger mindset and approach it exemplifies.

so, sigh, uh

if you're in Canada, maybe don't order physical books from No Starch press. they, uh, .... well, their customer service is ghosting us, but our best guess from the limited information available to us is that their computer prints Canadian addresses in an unreadable format, which parcel services can't handle.

it would be helpful to know if anyone else in Canada has received orders from them correctly, and whether those were Kickstarter orders.

How Trump’s Pressure Could Actually End Up Saving Canada

Seriously?

(****very**** slow charge time on this particular charge pack, yeesh)

Older model, the new ones charge from 0 in about 1.5 to 2 hours on AC.

Apparently designed only for a single day's outage and then you're in SOL, because you can't run it to someone's house and then charge it back up, and run back.

(That XKCD is good taste, and very well on-point, dear ShitGPT 😆)

Let's try that again. Internet is glitchy.

Knocked off to add alt text💖😉
