Grotto - Katsu Burger:

Ordered 20250307.

The restaurant has a wonderful atmosphere. It feels like your are eating a clean cool dark cave. A wonderful venue, very cozy. The chair and table choice for my table (for two) was a bit hard to manage due to the large flared base on the table. I have eaten here with larger groups and this is not an issue for other tables. Always a wonderful experience.

The patty is a breaded, deep-fried burger round with tonkatsu ketchup, kewpie mayo and a tasteful amount of slaw. I described the texture and flavor of the pork and beef patty as “gyozaesque”.

The tonkatsu ketchup was delicious, I thought it was some sort of soy sauce at first but according to the internet it has ketchup, soy sauce, Japanese sweet wine, Worcestershire sauce fresh ginger and garlic.

The bun was soft and fresh. It did not distract from the burger, a perfect vehicle. The burger was mechanically sound and held together for the meal, but it did ride the edge.

I am not sure if it's fair to put this burger on the same playing field as the others because it is something more. A fantastic "burger" and a solid entry in this burger competition.

TLDR: A crispy, crunchy, tender and savory meal. 8+/10

It will be close to Anderson's but is definitely a top recommendation.

Andersons - Wagyu King Burger:

Ordered for takeout. March 6@1327

Option was available without fries. took that option.

Place was boppin. No table and at times standing room only.

The burger has nice heat. I loved the cabbage. Pickles were not overwhelming, no slap of dill. Well balanced. Braised beef seemed a bit overwhelming. A nice sweet red Korean BBQ sauce really added.

No complaints about bun. Similar to Wendy's style but softer and sweeter. Toasted to perfection.

The wagyu beef patty was simple, savory, near perfect if only for being a little bit overdone(nitpicking).

This burger survived the eating process. I was able to eat it cleanly without any structural faults.

Service was fast, friendly and efficient. Enjoy your tip.

I was smiling for about 20 minutes after eating this burger. I was close to being moved to tears at the thought and effort put into this meal.

Terre - Hamburguesa

The flavors on the first bite were promising. After the burger was delivered I was given a steak knife. I chose instead to crunch the chips down in my grasp and eat this burger in my hands. The mouth feel was promising but Ultimately I felt the pork burger got lost in the toppings with the chips and ham stealing the spotlight.

The mustard/chips combo was amazing. The thick texture of the shaved ham took away from the burger. Required a little bit of extra work. Not sure if this a portion issue or a poor ingredient decision. Good burger. I had this burger under control until I had to put it down to try and take some notes. I could not get it back up in my hands and ended up finishing it with a knife and fork.

Fries are on par with ziggies but thicker cut. Well salted.

Service continues to be fast, prompt and courteous. A highly recommended dining experience.

TLDR: crunchy salty and savory. 6.5/10
