As an alternative, a subsidy of Taler Systems (the legal entity behind @Taler) will apply for a German e-money license, but this will of course take even more time.

The current U.S. sanctions regime shows that we urgently need European payment systems not tied to U.S. tech companies. Wero fails in this regard.
