Apple finally folded. The iPhone Duo lands October 23, so here's how it stacks up against the Galaxy Z Fold8 on paper. The spec that's missing? Repairability. We'll fill that in when we get our hands on one.

Side-by-side spec comparison graphic on a light background, split by a vertical blue line. At the top of each half is a blue line drawing of a folding phone’s rear camera module: on the left, an iPhone Duo; on the right, a Galaxy Z Fold8.

Left column reads: ‘iPhone Duo’: Battery, 31h video playback. Chip, Apple A20 Pro. Display, inner 7.6-inch OLED at 430 ppi, outer 5.4-inch OLED at 460 ppi. Rear cameras, 48 MP main and 48 MP ultra wide. Weight/material, 254 g, titanium. Connectivity/features, USB-C at 10 Gb/s, dual eSIM, IP68 dust/water resistance, and Apple Pencil support.

@iFixit Thanks for this. It staggers me why 50mp with an injection moulded plastic lens and then the images are compressed 🙄 Is it just to out-spec the competition with numbers?

@iFixit Would iPhone being heavier than the Samsung point to greater durability for iPhone? or is the Samsung well enough designed to have as good durability despite being lighter?
