1m agoA small but solid minority of families in suburbs and exurbs commute their kids out of district to these rural high schools because they want that “traditional,” small town, culturally conservative, like-minded community experience.
This has been the opposite of a secret in TX politics. Rural, ultra-conservative in every other way, Republicans would vote to protect the old education funding formulas in order to protect these schools.
