In the 40's in L.A. was where the current push to clean up the environment began. Several women that were watching as kids lungs began having problems. It had nothing to do with Climate Change. Acid Rain, then the Ozone Layer were connected to the problem.
All They wanted was to clean up the environment, outside of understanding that we need to keep the Nests clean, not much.
Both Reagan and Nixon supported them in the beginning (votes) then later sold out to Big Oil.
