    i've been seeing this species about. haven't really had an opportunity to get a good photo of one. nice shot.

    dragonflies tend to be that way. I'm honestly surprised that they stay as still as they do. one of my most favorite photos I've taken is a dragonfly and I felt really fortunate to snap it. the last photos I have of these little guys are from a trail in the Chesapeake area as well. I suppose their cousins. 😁 I only wish I was able to get some that have better contrast with their wings. this photo you took is perfect for that.
