So I'm dabbling with running a terminal code editor (Flow Control) inside a terminal workspace/multiplexer (ZelliJ) inside a terminal emulator (Ghostty).

Which looks/feels/sounds cool and all, and each single one of them seems to be a fine piece of software... until you start hitting keys.

Now I got three different layers fighting for shortcut sovereignty.

Dabbling with some code using a 3rd party library which is pretty nice, but very much in love with std::string.

I observe a 20x overhead in debug vs release builds on Linux/GCC.

On Windows/MSVC the difference is more like 60x.

Luckily, it's sufficiently fast for what I use it for, but still... 😩

In hobby GPU hacking news, I decided to ditch slang (https://shader-slang.org/). It's not meant to be used by mere mortals.

IMO, the only good thing about it is its easy integration and nice compiler/reflection API.

As for the shading language itself... I don't get it. The documentation doesn't explain anything. My brain simply refuses to parse.
