There are so many golf courses in Edinburgh, that this would likely affect the whole city!

In 1999 on the day of the partial eclipse I left my Cambridge office and walked down to the meadows near the river. I experienced the unearthly light and heard the birds go silent.
Don't let this pass by on Wednesday. If you have the opportunity, make your way to somewhere a little bit wild and untamed, and just live the experience. On no account use your phone. Maybe even leave that at home.
Green Party leader Polanski interviewed French economist and co-founder of the Paris School of Economics Thomas Piketty about how a wealth tax should be applied in the UK.
After Neil shared a clip of the interview on X calling it a "word salad of drizzle", Polanski hit back at him saying: "Listen to a right-wing commentator the BBC gave far too much airtime to for decades vs an actual economist."

I've just packed, and unpacked, every backpack I've got only to end up back with the one I had intended to retire. Just a 5 or 6 day hike this time. Surely it can't be as wet as the Hebrides?

Kinda got bored with how all things web, internet, computer language worked, (I’d rather be on my m/bike), but when equipment starts reducing our quality of life it’s time to make a stand imho.

Even if you don't use Gmail, Google AI is reading every email you send to every Gmail address.
Have you, a non-Gmail user, consented to this massive invasion of privacy?
Anytime I get a message from a Gmail address I'm going to tell them I can't properly respond until they confirm that those settings are turned off.

My review of the EIF opening concert, Wynton Marsalis' Symphony No1 "All Rise".

BTW the concert is going to be broadcast on R3 in September - date to be confirmed.
Palantir are ripping off the NHS:
Using revised estimates on the benefits to the NHS of Palantir's software (which you recall NHSE misrepresented) the benefits are lower than the (now revised & higher) costs of deploying the technology.
In other words the use of Palantir's software imposes a cost on the health service (costs are now projected at over £1bn, while projected benefits have fallen to less that £900m) leaving a clear logic for ending the contract!
"I beg your pardon"
is a phrase no longer heard during Trump's Golden Age.
Under the Trump 2.0 Regime, you're gonna have to pay for your pardon.

Radio Caroline has been found to have breached broadcasting rules over the extraordinary blunder, which saw listeners hear a pre-prepared announcement of the King's death followed by the national anthem and around 16 minutes of silence.
After realising what had happened, the presenter stopped the files before panicking and leaving the premises.
