Nov 5, 2026, 10:48 AMAfter 1&1 unsuccessfully fucked around for two months trying to hook us up with fiber internet, I got impatient, cancelled and got a new contract with Deutsche Telekom. They're not the cheapest, but their support works and they got us connected in less than a week.

Nov 5, 2026, 11:03 AMI think this is a generational thing. I’m already old enough to have grown up with shitty internet connections (think DSL with 1Mbit on a good day!) so it makes me very happy to finally have a super solid, premium setup at home.
@jaseg 1&1 has just began advertising their fibre around here.

They have responsive customer support, but they seem to be technically challenged in their backend ops (we had multiple >24h outages in 2 years) and their entire customer account management system seems to be terminally fucked, regardless of how responsive and nice their support agents are.
