From that same report [1]:
"North America is the only region to increase its carbon intensity of energy in 2025"
"In absolute terms, the increase in US emissions was four times greater than that of China"
"Global CO2 emissions from the energy sector rose by 1.1%. More than a third of
that rise was from the US. Europe’s CO2 emissions from the energy sector increased by 0.5%."
