@kura @lanodan the fancy animation i made for the new webpage of Project SERVFAIL should run on virtually any browser that supports canvas (oldest I’ve tested successfully was firefox 28 which has been my “modern” baseline for aaaages), even with canvas reads blocked. it’s 7.7K unminimized (as it should be), and i could probably cut it down further. also it doesn’t cause my laptop’s fans to whir up
and then I see webapps ship megabytes of JS that doesn’t even start on the latest release of librewolf unless I enable extra stuff just for it :/ and somehow, the overheads are only getting slower and slower! all of this makes me sad. you COULD do better, but this isn’t anyone’s priority
