Well... crap. The path to enshittification is now set. If it isn't forked already, someone better do so now.
Yesterday I got a status update that they're going to lastrite the minetest ebuild, as they're looking for new maintainers and the old name is just getting in the way.
So, last night I worked on a fresh @Luanti ebuild which seems to be working well. I even did a patch for a silly crash when running it as a server, which is a bug in 5.17.
Just for my own use for now, might upload it to @gentoo GURU later.
