Many years ago I planted a pampas grass because I liked the flowers (sigh, no, not that). Trouble is, the leaves are like kitchen knives and it grew very, very big, and I was getting sliced too often. So I dug it out, it was huge, and I broke the spade getting it out. For a few years this great lump of a root ball sat on the patio, covered to stop it regrowing. At last today I cleared it and reclaimed the patio. It’s now a really nice mulch, and there’s lots of it. 🥳 #gardening

Flu vaccine has been got. Was pretty busy and maybe I should have waited til the afternoon session, but hey, done now. They’d just called out 69 (nice) when I got my ticket.

Was going through toots and I got a notification from another app and Ivory scrolled to the top. No way to return it to where I was. Oh well. 😠

It’s definitely that time of year. Squish, drip, plip, plop.

Resisted the urge to get up and have a quadruple espresso with dark chocolate because that’s somehow what I really want right now and am going to try and get back to sleep.

Anyway, got a haircut while out in the wilds. Fresh fade! #selfie

I don’t often interrupt people, in fact I rarely do. So rarely it’s almost never. BUT. “The thing I liked about Anne Widdecombe was she spoke the truth, unl…”

Yes, I was rude, I interrupted. Not having that.

After* the conversation I just had, out there in the real world where *people* are, I think we need mandatory media awareness training for everyone before they’re allowed on the internet.

* I thought this before, but now, especially now.

Computers are really very annoying now.

Oh we logged you out because whatever oh that’s not the right password oh actually it is but verify you’re human anyway by identifying what Americans consider to be breakfast food (donuts!?) and oh there was a problem how about upgrading to a passkey to fix it and how about you give us more personal data oh well then here’s the page you asked for nope it’s the home page again fooled you ALERT someone logged in as you on a device we’ve never seen before!

On the workshop door earlier. iPhone macro, which might explain the oddity of its left antenna. Super crisp the rest of it though!

Replacement bowl has been got! Proper Fabriqué en France genuine Pyrex one.

I didn’t take a photo of it but I had a lovely coffee and caramel cake at the Norse Cafe (in the Norwegian Church) 🍰

Some other famous buildings, as you do. I love how these very different buildings (including the Senedd in the first toot) are all next to each other.

I went to Cardiff today! Met some friends, had a long walk, saw some famous buildings.

Glass bowl I assumed was Pyrex because it’s a glass bowl in the kitchen (why *wouldn’t* it be Pyrex?) turns out to very much not be Pyrex. Rats. No injuries. I moved a pan on the shelf into it for a moment and smash.

Actually I think I prefer this version. Makes a good wallpaper.

Tunnel vision! Put away the portable aircon, and this is the outlet tube.

The rest of the tree is still green, but this branch caught the sun and glowed. #LeafScrolling

Pretty sky this evening! Went out, took a photo, then noticed those little specks around the tree and now feel itchy.

The starlings have discovered the grape vine so I thought I’d better harvest and juice some before they smash the lot to pieces. There’s loads left for them and other birds, this is just the (ahem) low hanging fruit. And a shield bug along for the ride. #selfie
