Backtalk is making my iOS device feel sluggish. Holy hell. This screen reader is seriously impressive. Why aren't more blind people talking about this.

I've never been so tempted in my life to switch to android. Backtalk is a game changer. It is so freaking responsive, it makes me weep It is incredible.

I love Spaniards. They've made cussing an art form and it’s delightful to hear.

Student that has procrastinated for 7 months suddenly wants to work hard and cram on his last few weeks of training. I wish this was unusual

At the rate things are going my desk will have a head shaped dent by the end of day

You did not build infrastructure, because infrastructure is fascist. Congratulations, you lose.
You did not build structured hierarchy and specific rates / responsibilities? Now nobody knows what they're doing when the shit hits the fan. Congratulations, you lose.
You decided that the ideologically correct next step was to fuck off into the forest and hide from the world? Congratulations, you lose.
You decided to refuse to use AI on ideological and purity grounds? Congratulations, you lose, and now there is fascism at machine-speed and antifascism at human speed and fascism wins, this is just fucking physics, they can flood social media with a thousand LLM-run accounts in 30 seconds and you're still struggling to get 6 people on your fedi. you lose. retroactively you lose, you lose that thoroughly.

The tools created by fascism are loot. to be stolen, repurposed, and used, gleefully, joyfully, to dismantle fascism. Mario Bros coin pickup noises! Sonic ring pikcup noises! All the tech is out there, steal it back! you bloody worked to make it, in many cases! antifascist workers, take the tools you fucking made back!

I am increasingly of the opinion that the leftist concept of "fashware" or "contaminated" software is kind of dumb. a fascist made a decent bit of software? great! Steal it, give him nothing, use it. Otherwise the only ones who have the software are the fascists. same with the "woops this got touched by AI once and now I can't use it" people. the fuck are you going to use? are you going to back yourselves into a fucking corner over purity? congratulations, you lose. categorically, thoroughly, so thoroughly it's impressive. you. lose. All your base are belong to the fascists, except no, they don't, because you didn't fucking build anything, did you, because purity. Fuck.

And just like that... my day just got much better.

People give iOS a lot of flack for being a grid of icons. But you know what it has? It's predictable. And it’s been moving away from that for a few years now. Sigh... At least I'll be employed for a long while.

And that's just the machine. I'm dreading when we cover magnification and screen reading solutions. Even the best magnification and screen reader combo in terms of documentation and context sensitive help, Fusion, is needlessly complicated.

Software should not be released until it has been used by the entire teams less tech savvy family members and friends. Especially user design. Just spend Two hours trying to teach an 81 year old how to use her new windows 11 machine. We got as far as The windows key opens the start menu. this person wants to learn. They are passionate and came in with a great attitute. It's just things are so confusing if you've never used a computer before.

A firmware update and a lost bit locker key. Yup, this is going to be my thursday.

Eyes feel like they are on fire, stress migraine just kicking me in the cranium, and dealing with a cranky toddler. Yup, can I get a do over today? Please? Please?

This is the most overkill thing I've ever experienced. My current driver has a back seat cover, on top of that he has plastic sheeting, and on top of that, he has yet another seat cover. putting on the seatbelt was a nightmare, and Lucas's car seat was even worse.

How we forget that before all of this AI crap, we had access to recording apps, small recorders, and wiretaps. Do I like it, no. But that's the world we live in.

According to the website, I can only lease a new iPhone if, and only if, you use one of the three major carriers. So if you use an NVMO like Mint or Straight Talk, you are screwed. That's just annoying as all get out.

I love the Windows 11 debloater tool, but I hate that I have to run it on every pc I set up. Otherwise, Win 11 is so freaking slow.

I assumed that Fediverse could really be an open, progressive environment where to discuss ideas and grow up, with different points of view. But what I'm finding lately, is something different. Narration going from "pro AI / glasses" to "no AI / glasses" so if you don't maintain a position, you are just in favor of fascists or perverts.
The last one I had a discussion with, called me "a waste of time" because I made him realize that a sighted pervert can use his own eyes, without glasses, while I fasten my shoes strings, bent over. Instead of joining me, thinking of a proposal to satisfy blind people's needs while protecting privacy, no. The problem is me.

Same for github/codeberg stuff: do AI-built pull-requests ruin open source software? Yes.
Is AI-generated code dirty and unreliable? Yes.
Have hand made coders the right to prohibit automated code? Yes, of course.
But same coders, went on for years saying "I'm an independant coder, a small company, I have no resources to make it accessible to blind, if you need it, make it yourself".
Now, thanks to assisted coding, many of us blind are doing exactly this: trying to solve their gaps by having the bots fix the issue. Then, to help other users (and the coder himself), they place the fix in form of pull request, into the repository. And it's often refused.
But, would the original coder ever solve accessibility? No. I'm alone, it's a small company, you're the first blind user I hear, and similar bullshit.
What, the fuck, should, we, do?

From far-right, I know what to expect: they're racist, ableists, and all the worst. They don't hide it. But I couldn't definitely expect such behaviours from people caring for freedom, ethics, open technologies, etc. I'm fed up of being considered an object who can gladly be sacrificed for purity of something or someone.

UPDATE: on blindness, coding and AI, please read this story, wrote by an experienced blind guy, about the topic:

https://mosen.org/ai

And as the discussion must be complete, I also add another point of view, together with the one pro vibe-coding.

On the link below, Robert (another experienced blind person) talks about "disability dongle", meaning those super-tech hardwares made for disability, but are more for inspirational videos than for real time usage. Expensive and uncomfortable.

Robert talks about hardware but it can easily be applied to AI as well: it's far from affordable, not with disability in mind, it must be well trained and you use more tokens to get what you want...

I'm not pro, I'm not against, I'm in the middle. Appreciate good, hate the bad. And want the discussion to be more balanced.

Just switched to Fedra and I can't believe I haven't done this sooner.

Man, Star Wars Knights of the Old Republic is so good, I'm dismayed that I don't hear anyone else playing it.
