I think I’ve officially reached that age where the things I used to laugh at grown folks for are the very things that get me excited now.

I remember wondering why they made such a big deal over a new vacuum cleaner, a good set of pots and pans, or finding laundry detergent on sale.

I used to think, good grief, don’t these people have anything more exciting going on?

Well, somewhere along the way, I became one of them.

Now, if you mention a good sale on household supplies, I want to know where, how much, and whether there’s any left!

And a comfortable mattress or a really good night’s sleep? Oh man! That’s practically a special occasion for me.

I know some of my older family would be laughing and saying, “See? We told you you’d understand one day." They were right!

What’s one boring grown-up thing that gets you excited these days?

I'm probably late to the party, but one of my favorite iOS 27 features that people don't seem to be talking about is the ability to ask Siri to perform an action on the current page. Saying things like "enter my email address in the text field", or "draft a reply to this message with availability based on my Calendar" have been saving me a lot more time than I thought they would. It's also great for inaccessible applications when Voiceover can't find or won't click buttons.

Why do we say we’re going to put something in a safe place, and then immediately forget where that safe place is?

I can keep up with something for years as long as it’s sitting in the same old spot. But the minute I decide to get organized and put it somewhere it won’t get lost, that thing disappears like it’s entered the witness protection program!

Then comes the fun part. I start looking in all the places where I know it isn’t, because apparently that’s part of the process.

Eventually, I find it six months later while looking for something completely different.

And of course, my first thought is, “Well, that’s a perfectly good place to keep that!”

So I put it right back.

I’m beginning to think the safest place to keep anything is wherever I was leaving it before I decided to get organized.

I’ve got a question. When did we start needing an instruction manual just to figure out what somebody means in a text message?

Somebody sends “OK” and now we’re wondering if they’re upset. Somebody else sends “K” and apparently that’s even worse!

Then there’s the person who sends a thumbs-up, and half the world thinks that’s perfectly friendly while the other half thinks they’ve just been dismissed.

And don’t even get me started on punctuation. Apparently putting a period at the end of a sentence can make you sound angry now.

I remember when punctuation was just punctuation!

At this rate, we’re going to need a translator for conversations we’re already having in English.

I’m curious, though. What’s one texting habit that drives you absolutely crazy?

Why is it that the minute somebody says, “Don’t forget to remind me about something,” I suddenly become responsible for two people’s memories?

Now I’ve got to remember what I was supposed to do, what you were supposed to do, and the fact that I’m supposed to remind you to do it!

And heaven forbid I forget. Now we’re both standing there trying to figure out why neither one of us remembered.

I think the funniest part is when somebody says, “You’re supposed to remind me!”

Well, who was supposed to remind me to remind you?

At this point, I think we need to hire somebody whose only job is keeping track of what everybody else is supposed to remember.

And knowing my luck, I’d forget to pay them!

Version 583.0.0 of Facebook on iOS has fixed the problem where swiping to the right would not move from one post to the next on your home timeline. Instead, you had to deal with buttons for Like, Comment, etc. This made the experience redundant because swiping up or down from a post already exposed these options. This latest version seems to have corrected this problem.

For some time many of us have wondered just who is Jack Schitt? We find ourselves at a loss when someone says, "You don't know Jack Schitt!" Well, thanks to my genealogy efforts, you can now respond in an intellectual way.
Jack Schitt is the only son of Awe Schitt.

Awe Schitt, the fertilizer magnate, married Miss O. Needeep They had one son, Jack.

... In turn, Jack Schitt married Noe Schitt. The deeply religious couple produced six children: Holie Schitt, Giva Schitt, Fulla Schitt, Bull Schitt, and the twins Deap Schitt and Dip Schitt.

Against her parents' objections, Deap Schitt married her cousin Dumb Schitt, a high school dropout. After being married 15 years, Jack and Noe Schitt divorced.

Noe Schitt later married Ted Sherlock, and, because her kids were living with them, she wanted to keep her previous name. She was then known as Noe Schitt Sherlock.

Meanwhile, Dip Schitt married Loda Schitt, and they produced a son with a rather nervous disposition named Chick N. Schitt.

Two of the other six children, Fulla Schitt and Giva Schitt, were inseparable throughout childhood and subsequently married the Happens brothers in a dual ceremony.

The wedding announcement in the newspaper announced the Schitt-Happens nuptials.

The Schitt-Happens children were Dawg, Byrd, and Hoarse. Bull Schitt, the prodigal son, left home to tour the world. He recently returned from Italy with his new Italian bride, Pisa Schitt.

Now when someone says, "You don't know Jack Schitt," you can correct them.

Okay, I’ve got a strange question for everybody this morning.

What’s something that was considered perfectly normal when you were growing up that would seem absolutely ridiculous to somebody today?

I’ll give you an example.

Remember when somebody would call your house, and whoever answered the phone became the official family secretary?

You’d be hollering through the house, “Mama! Somebody’s on the phone for you!”

And if the person wasn’t home, you had to find a pencil, locate a piece of paper, write down the message, and hope you didn’t lose it before they got back.

There was no caller ID, no text message, and certainly no way to pretend you hadn’t seen the call!

And if somebody was on the phone too long, everybody else in the house had an opinion about it.

We’ve come a long way, haven’t we?

So tell me, what’s something from back in the day that you almost can’t believe we used to do?

Good morning, everybody! 😊

You know, I’ve never understood why some people get so worked up when somebody doesn’t like the same things they do.

I mean, if I tell you I don’t like a particular food, why are you looking at me like I’ve personally offended your entire family? 😂

We all have different tastes, different opinions, and different ways of doing things. That’s just part of being human.

And I’ve found that some of the most interesting conversations happen when people don’t agree about everything.

I can listen to somebody explain why they love something I can’t stand, and we can both get a good laugh out of it.

I don’t have to convince them they’re wrong, and they don’t have to convince me I’m right.

I wish we could carry a little more of that attitude into other areas of life.

It’s okay for somebody to see things differently. It doesn’t automatically mean there’s a problem between us.

Now, there are certain foods I still don’t understand how anybody eats, but I’m willing to let y’all enjoy them in peace! 😂❤️
