wrote a post about my guestbook kwon.nyc/notes/slow-inefficien Also made a small custom plywood box with a plexiglass back for the machine machine, it’s a little rough around the edges (literally - I did not plane or sand any edges), also had a keanu-esque whoa moment when I realized that SAWDUST is the DUST from a SAW (in the middle of sawing)… so it’s been a big day

Small plywood box with a plexiglass face thru which a blinking microcontroller and wires are visible, then the camera pans to the front of the box which has a protruding thermal receipt printer

Ignore my loud sigh, they are just involuntary now and I didn’t even realize I was doing it (I was sitting on the floor and apparently picking up the box to turn it around was just too much)

@rjkwon “There’s nothing like having struggled with something that just wasn’t working, and then the euphoria of the moment where it just… works.”

one of my favorite feelings in the whole dang world 💫

@rjkwon I love this post and the printer guestbook, everything about it! I too am a big fan of building things for the fun of it, even if they don't have much (or any) practical use, and it makes me happy to see someone else doing that with their own ideas and flavors of fun. I'm excited to see what you'll come up with next!
