After a decade at Cloudinary, I am looking work.

I'm a web developer who's done a lot of devrel, too. I'm good at:

    - building on the front of the front end,

    great at:

    - the web platform (browsers and standards),
    - researching and communicating the hows and whys of all sorts of things,

and the stem of my T-shaped skills is:

    - "images, on the internet".

If you could use any of that or know someone who could – hit me up!

I only have half a brain left and I don't like our Tech industry much anymore. But I will try to be helpful! ;)

You can always try the competition, aka Akamai Image Manager. If a corporate clandestine monstrosity which without oversight runs a third of the global Internet and has significant military ties is not your ethical cup of tea, then you could always apply at companies whose products need a significant amount of images in their conversion funnel. For example, Google Hotel Search or trivago ship terabytes of images to their customers. They can only convert users by successful image delivery. So improving their image stack and getting fast delivery is a huge win for these companies. You can eyeball companies like that and apply pro-actively.

Another unethical but well-paid choice might be to apply at so-called "AI" companies because the LLMs need good vision to work with existing interfaces. So optimizing input imagery for their CNNs might be a huge deal where you could land a very decent job.

@tbaldauf @Schepp Well this is some very honest and much-appreciated advice. Compromises, compromises everywhere. Thank you.
