Over several decades, (during the 'drug years') I was stolen from, lied to, and betrayed, by people who, I thought were friends, and I thought were like me, had a bad habit but tried to be basically good.
Many hurt me in ways that I have shoved into locked rooms in my mind, never to revisit.
Some disappeared, some died, some became so institutionalized that they would reoffend, because they couldn't survive outside.
Some got clean and did the steps.
At least one said that I inspired them to quit.
And at some level, I am proud of her.
But, she left scars that still cause me pain.

Is it possible to forgive someone while still never wanting to ever see that person again?
