Steve Buscemi was a firefighter before he was an actor. He took a long leave of absence from being a firefighter, to pursue his acting career.
He came back again the day after 9/11, as a firefighter. He inhaled the toxic dust.

@mekkaokereke My best friend was a chiropractor in NYC on 9/11. He went down to ground zero with a portable adjust table and provided care to the firefighters. He now has multiple myeloma and receives experimental therapy via the 911 funds.
