@jascha I still have an issue with it and prefer it when authors write alt texts themselves (that's how I do it). However, if an author doesn't/won't do it and there's no alt4you, I personally would consider the benefit of having at least some sort of alt text more important, especially given that the usage of image recognition software doesn't consume too many resources. But since it'd be absurd if everyone ran it on their own, I think an altbot makes sense.

But I dislike the effect where people stop writing alt texts because of altbot existing.

So yes, I'm very conflicted about this :3
