The rapid drop of sea ice extent in the Chukchi and Beaufort Seas during early August has leveled out, and ice extent is now close to the 1991-2020 median in NSIDC. The slow-down is the result of low concentration ice being moved around by currents and the wind. @ZLabe @Climatologist49
