And to every white person who comes to me with “it’s better to cancel the event to protect the children!”:
What the fuck? It’s the job of the city and the police to make events like this possible. If you cannot protect kids who want to swim for two hours, what are you doing?
Can white folks please open up some books written by Black people in the USA if you cannot even read German history books?

@bitboxer and I get so annoyed like you about the lazy excuse that people can’t do their job of protecting a group of kids. Are you gonna tell me that literally the one time we need cops to do something, somehow they can’t? It’s too risky? Too many unknowns??? 😡🤮

@alicetragedy I am pretty sure the cops and mayor thought it’s bad press. Cops having to protect a pool with black kids makes for bad photos if you don’t trust yourself to spin this right.
