We don't want to believe certain things about the dead sometimes. We wrestle with our conscience on what's acceptable and make excuses in our heads ... finding myself doing a bit of that this week after the passing of a certain celeb ... don't speak ill of the dead but the truth should be known?

@nantes I'm very much struggling with that this week. Things I would have said verbally but never in writing, this week can't even be spoken.

And it's a very tough time for God knows how many people to stick their head over the parapet in the face of such fervant adoration.

@Rubelicious not being involved in any scenes (music / trad) these are all things I'd never really thought of .. a friend mentioned a few songs last week and I'd started working on them (singing) so it hit me hard the whole thing this week. Then a vague post was made with a IYKYK hash tag and I started wondering what the hell. I would like to give the benefit of the doubt and I'm just ... left going ... jesus!

@nantes yeah, some background can be easily put together from the public info on Wikipedia or whatever. That's not even the tip of the iceberg though. A lot of pursed lips this week, probably all around the country.
