Sounds friendly right? And very considerate?

Accessibility is about equitable opportunities. It is about autonomy.

And this friendly gesture does not offer more autonomy. Ask yourself: What you do for accessibility, does it improve autonomy?

(sorry, I assume your intent was well 💚)

@erikKroes Well, as someone with an allergy I have learned from the beginning to a) check beforehand if the place is listed in my app b) when I spontaneously go somewhere I ask staff if they could accommodate me before they get me a table.

@erikKroes well, sometimes I get a allergens card (so I can see which this includes what and I can make my choice) or a separate menu.

If that doesn't happen, I do have to ask which choice I have from the menu. And that indeed doesn't feel truly independent. It would be great if I indeed never had to ask.
