    it is kind of funny how:
    windows: either run all games through steam, or install some janky driver to get basic controller support for 3rd parties
    linux on the jankiest possible hardware: plug in a dualsense, and it works out of the box. perhaps too well. audio automatically switches to the dualsense speaker.

    if you're wondering about jank on this platform:
    modern system firmware needs to execute uefi option roms from plug-in gpus to be capable of outputting to their display before the os driver loads.

    uefi defines a cross-architecture method of writing these option roms, but nobody uses it. obviously, loongarch edk2 deals with this by including a built-in x86 emulator. in the system firmware.

    it worked fine for my rx550, but it seems like that has failing memory, and it doesn't work for my rx560.
