In particular, I find myself trying to untie knots in my head regarding what we discussed a month ago in Bordeaux with #PrePostPrint people.
I'll try to explain the link.

RE: https://post.lurk.org/@julienbidoret/116816077312243453
Yesterday, I shared the question @julienbidoret was asking to Kevin Donnot in the toot below, about the publication of his source code. A discussion with Kevin followed, which resulted on the publication of his scripts on GitHub, alongside a message on one of the @prepostprint Matrix channels... Thanks for that Kevin!

Him sharing his scripts was pretty well received there, I mean, it only got positive emoji reactions. But it was also the only reactions. It did not raise any question or remark, even though it was... InDesign scripts, in a community that "highlights experimental publications made with free software".
The last time InDesign scripts were shared in this channel, a comment came with it: "Interesting, but a bit too adobe if you ask me." -- @raphael

Do not get me wrong: I'm glad Kevin shared his code, and that we can welcome this contribution. Though it gets me thinking. It was the question I was asked at the end of my own talk about #OutDesign: does this system emancipate InDesign users, or does it reinforce Adobe's hegemony? I still do not think a definite answer can be formulated.

Should it become casual to just share a broader range of code snippets in this community? Or, as @320x200 said, (I'm quoting the same excerpt again, yes,) :

> [...] a composite of free software, cracked software, bootleg devices, samizdat source code, modded appliances, sneakernets, invite-only bespoke networks, squatted game servers, and all sorts of computational apparatus strategically and knowingly used in relation to their limits and potentials to build infrastructures with a specific purpose at the service of a clearly articulated political ambition.

Well, personally, I feel that my political ambition is clear--though I am not convinced that the outcomes of developing such ambiguous tools are aligned with my ambitions. What do the #PrePostPrint people think of that?
7/n
Kevin told me that OutDesign changed the way he envisioned his work in relation to InDesign, though I am not sure I understand to what extent that is. What I know is that with Élise Gay, they were contractually obliged by the institution to use InDesign, and that now this work can be used by others to circumvent these constraints.

So... If I just put it very roughly, bluntly, provocatively... Should PrePostPrint continue to say that it highlights experimental publications made with free software?

ping people who might be interested by that, once again:
@dobody @QuentinJuhel @timotheegoguely @antoinentl @queenparamount @clara__bgn @euji etc. etc. etc.
@dobody @euji @yann_t @queenparamount @clara__bgn @timotheegoguely @antoinentl Do you think Kevin was shy to share with us these tool considering our vision. I think about it the train going back to my home. If you see this Kevin, I was little bit sceptical about the position of not sharing you’re fabulous scrpt (Sorry). I was and I am always convinced about the sharing pratice and that what I think what is #Prepostprint
