    The best we can do is to pool knowledge & look for hidden assumptions & gaps in our understanding.

    The higher our level of privilege, the more likely we are to have *major* gaps in our understanding of other people.

    In "The Utopia of Rules," David Graeber describes an empathy gap where oppressed people can see the world through their own eyes & the eyes of their oppressors but it doesn't work the other way around.

    The more privilege you have experienced & the less friction has existed in your life, the more likely you are to not even be aware that there are things you don't know, let alone know how to identify those areas.
