The thing non-sick people don't realize is that even when you've figured out your chronic illness and have it mostly controlled, our healthcare system might just do a rug pull.
Maybe your doctor is feeling salty. Or the insurance company feels like giving you trouble. Or you just forgot to do something small.
So any time I need a refill, and I call my doctor, it's actually extremely stressful: over the last 20 years, a dozen of those calls have resulted in me being sick for 6-8 weeks.
