    Road trip trivia.

    Duration: 11 days
    Total drive time: 32 hours
    Total distance: 2,142 miles/3,344 km
Gas (Petrol) consumed: 93 US gallons or 352.5 liters
    States visited: 5

    License plates observed:
    - 42 of the 50 US state license plates (including Alaska and Hawaii)
    - 3 Canadian Provinces
    - 1 Costa Rica
    - 1 EU

We're all some road-traveling fools here in 2026.

We only saw two other Wyoming license plates outside of Wyoming. I guess they only let us out of the state four at a time.

Also, I can state with a reasonable (for me) degree of confidence that there is no such thing as a comfortable hotel bed.

    Sample size: 5
    Margin of error: ridiculously large

    @mmiasma

    23mpg.

The average or "normal" fuel economy for a standard vehicle in the US sits around 28 to 29 MPG (Miles Per Gallon).

A normal MPG (Miles Per Gallon) in the UK averages around 38 to 40 MPG for mixed driving. This varies heavily by your engine type, car size, and driving conditions.

MPG (Miles Per Gallon) differs between the US and the UK primarily because the two countries use different-sized gallons. A UK (Imperial) gallon is about 20% larger than a US gallon, which means a UK vehicle will display a higher MPG number than an identical car in the US

    80% of 40=32mp(us)g

    also we sell in liters.

@amiserabilist @mmiasma now I measure my car’s energy efficiency in miles per kWh. At present gasoline and electricity prices in my area, my electric car is getting the equivalent of 55mpg if I spent my money on gasoline
