Just saw a video where this white person from Minnesota showed off how to make fried chicken and waffles.

She slathered the fried chicken in maple syrup, mayo, shredded cheese.

My comment on her video was, “Well, that’s unorthodox.”

She took offence to this and said, “How dare you insult the tradition of soul food!”

Then a bunch of Black folk busted in the replies and said, “We do not claim this concoction! This is not ours! You’re responsible for this mess!”

Which caused the white person to double down, insisting this is true, authentic soul food.

But by this point, nobody was having any of it.
