Yesterday I had to go for a blood draw.

I wore a mask.
A small child asked their mother, 'why are they wearing masks'

Mom (with contemptuous tone) "I don't know. Maybe they're sick."

Me: NOPE! I just respect the workers.

.. I wish I'd added, "and patients who may be immune-compromised."

But it was enough to get the point across and I could feel her seethe.
