I understand introduction posts are part of the culture here. I normally don't do this kind of thing because of work conflicts. I am a former academic now in the public sector - backroom role in a high-profile sector. I watch a lot of hockey. I wish I had more time for vidya.

The handle is a reference to the character in Gravity's Rainbow. I identify with Roger's struggle to explain the Poisson distribution to people who simply don't care to listen or understand it. Even though it explains a great deal if what's going on.
