It has been reported before, but perhaps there now is more reliable information that direct day trains between Prague and Copenhagen really will happen. Only from May 2026, though, not from the timetable change in December.

Do you have all the coat hangers in your closet facing in the same direction?
Ooh. ANSI had such a cool logo. The current one is just meh.
The vitriol and insinuations (and mock politeness) are most visible on the board-discuss list https://community.documentfoundation.org/c/board-discuss/, but occasionally also show up uncensored on other lists, like here https://community.documentfoundation.org/t/well-known-high-contributors-were-removed/
One can only imagine what the various non-public mailing lists and online discussions look like.
In case anybody lives in the misconception that #LibreOffice is developed and distributed by a large happy thriving "community" of individuals and companies, just have a look at their public mailing lists. It is obvious that there are several factions in the Document Foundation with deep mistrust of each others. There is even unethical behaviour to make sure others lose any influence they have.
Personally I have never been a member, my only reason to work on LibreOffice was that I got paid.
I don't want to point fingers, so won't mention any names, but what would you think of an Open Source project where the main developer loves one- or two-word commit messages like:
push
fix push
cleaning
fix
async
But hey, as an end user, as long as it is tasty, no need to visit there sausage factory.
Watching Zero Day on Netflix. Oddly enough, so far, ten minutes into the first episode, it doesn’t seem annoying or silly.
TIL that #Matjes is not a name for a specific way to prepare pickled herring, or a blend of spices used for it, but the name for herring caught at a young age, during late spring and early summer, having had time to fatten up after winter but before having produced any milt or roe. Related to the words maiden and Mädchen.
Ah, I see. That Milano–Venezia EC 141 is actually supposed to be EC 41 Genève–Venezia https://www.vagonweb.cz/razeni/vlak.php?zeme=SBB&kategorie=&cislo=41&nazev=&rok=2025 but for some reason that train doesn't currently run between Domodossola and Milano. So probably it uses the same rolling stock, ETR610?
Ping #BahnBubble: What kind of rolling stock are "#EuroCity" trains operated by #Trenitalia entirely *inside* Italy? Like EC141 Milano Centrale 10:05–Venezia Santa Lucia 12:42.
EC141 is a popular train number, there is also "Ostravan" https://www.vagonweb.cz/razeni/vlak.php?zeme=ČD&kategorie=EC&cislo=141&rok=2025&lang=en and "Semmelweis" https://www.vagonweb.cz/razeni/vlak.php?zeme=ÖBB&kategorie=EC&cislo=141&rok=2025
No checks for overlaps before assigning such numbers? Crazy.

Heise Online reports about a Chinese maglev train prototype (or laboratory experiment) that accelerates from zero to 650 km/h in seven seconds. Yay. Except that this is completely useless performance for passenger transport. That means almost 3g acceleration.

But, on the other hand. In Italy you can pay with card practically everywhere. Even if just buying a bottle of Coke or a beer. Here in Austria, and also in Germany, it is really annoying when some places only accept cash. Tax evasion?
Austria: you take a random bus to the outskirts of a medium-size city. You immediately see some signposted walking path. You follow it. No fences. No fly-tipping.
Compare to Italy: All agricultural land is fenced off. Very few public footpaths, except in national parks and in very mountainous areas. Random piles of garbage here and there close to roads.
Sorry.
En julgran på en midsommarstång? Varför inte. I Graz.
This plaque at least acknowledges that Hungarians did horrible things, too. The Nazis had willing helpers here.
Now, in Poland, I think it is forbidden to suggest that there were domestic participants in the holocaust, too?
