The app itself has more features (not the iOS wallet) seems like a good alternative but the whole setup process takes you through an exhausting ‘do you consent etc’ flow before hitting you with a you need a EU debit payment method to use it.. or maybe you can use an international card but I don’t see it or it’s a mystery section of the app

Mmm I really wouldn’t recommend the iOS wallet implementation of Navigo

It was working fine and then I got locked out of gates one day and couldn’t get help easily to leave

I had to issue a new Navigo card daily while using the daily pass clicking Buy Passes after using a day pass leads to service unavailable

Unlike most cities’ transit card systems this is not a stored value system that you simply load value or money into. You have to load a specific ticket like a single bus ride or a single day pass or a 3 day unlimited travel pass

It worked well then stopped working and the staff don’t know how to handle this at the stations

I went back to using a Navigo easy card that I just load at the machine

If I were here longer I’d just have done weekly pass and it would have been fine, probably. But in my specific use case I needed daily passes on day 1, 2, 5 and not consecutive days

Sometimes when I think about the grifters in the LLM space, I also think about the grifters from bitcoin: what happened to all the people who made hypothetical incredible amounts of money through untoward and unscrupulous means?

They’re digging in landfills looking for hard drives while their families and everyone they love leaves them. They’re so rich because they stole from someone, they had to fake their deaths and / or exile themselves to the UAE or Russia.

The pursuit of hypothetical money at all costs is, I think, sociopathic and lonely. But people who want that don’t care about mental or social happiness, so it doesn’t matter.
