just to quote the last paragraph:
"Across the decades, millions of people have been neglected, dismissed and mistreated, and still it goes on. We need to ask why so many patients have been abandoned, why discredited and dangerous treatments continue to be prescribed and why ignorance and neglect still dominate, in the health system and beyond. In other words, there has seldom been a stronger case for a public inquiry."
oh, the Guardian just published an article:
Why now?
I am on my way to donate blood for the first time (2nd try, I forgot to eat beforehand the first time).
Yesterday I took a day off to teach first responders and future doctors about the THW, the German volunteer based civil defense unit. It was part of a summer academy.
I am volunteering at the THW as well as the fire department. I really enjoy it as a contrast to my IT job.
But sometimes I wonder "why". Why do I serve the very society that stigmatizes my partner? Because I enjoy it. And I like to help people unconditionally. And sometimes I can use my status as a citizen in uniform to spread more awareness. Slowly, piece by piece. A drop in the ocean, but we have to start somewhere.
For reasons I am agin referring to @broadwaybabyto
Listen what she says. It is true. I can confirm it for Germany.
And even if you follow her, read her texts and then think you are prepared, you are not. Once you experience the society (yes, society as in people around you, not only the "system") as a disabled person or as a partner / close friend of a disabled person you will still be shocked.
Able bodied, non chronically ill just don't want to be annoyed by disability. Visibility and knowledge alone about the struggling of disabled people is treated as an annoyance that has to be hidden and locked away.

Stichworte: GdB, ME/CFS, Erwerbsunfähigkeitsrente.

I recently received an (encrypted!) phishing Email with a link to lokicollective (dot) org. Nothing on google yet.
The Sender asked me to have a look at their business model.
Looks like some simple setup to lure in semi-professionals into ... something?
(I did not click the link of course, it had a tracking uuid attached)
Does anybody here know whats going on here?
Now imagine someone with a gps jammer faking the location going through the depot causing all trains to fail at the same time. Infrastructure should not be vulnerable for such an attack.
RT @benjamingeer: Polish hackers figured out that a train manufacturer had programmed its trains to break down after certain dates, or if they were serviced at another company's workshop.
