I was lucky enough to attend the pre-opening #AFOL event at the new #LEGO store at Lakeside (Thurrock) on Wednesday evening. I bought the Enterprise Bridge, two boxes of PAB parts, three new BAM minifigures and got lots of freebies. Here is my haul and a couple of shots of the PAB wall. #BlockHeadUK
I pledged for the model in the transparent magenta case. Only 2,429 backers chose this limited edition.
I already own a Next KS1, so I wasn't sure if I should back the third Kickstarter. This case instantly won me. 😀
And wow... It's a beauty. 😍 I don't regret my decision at all.
Let's share some photos, shall I? 😁
You probably guessed it by now: It's a ZX Spectrum Next KS3. I waited about 18 months for the delivery. And now it's here.

So the other day someone linked to this article, which describes Apple's knowledgeconstructiond daemon.
https://8rank.ai/game/apple-intelligence-personal-knowledge-graph
It seems to build a database / graph of highly personal data for Apple Intelligence use. I just checked on my Mac, and it is not running on my machine. I think this is probably only enabled on machines that have Apple Intelligence enabled, which I haven't. So if you don't want or require Apple Intelligence, it is probably better turned off.

The old phone you can still buy new today - Cortelco 250044
I'm looking for recommendations to a new #sewing machine (up to 500eur).
What I'm looking for:
- good speed control
- selectable needle stop
- support for twin needles
- comes with a variety of feet (button holes, zipers, etc)
- threading helper
- thread cutter
- reachable reverse button (near the needle)
- LED light
- should work with thicker fabrics like denim, etc
I don't need a million different stitch types or embroidery functions.
I've added preliminary support for x87 decoding to MartyPC's online x86 disassembler:
This was really the only thing holding it back from being the best retro x86 disassembler on the web; in my humble opinion!
FPU decoding is a second decorator pass on a disassembled ESC instruction. So you can do fun things like disassemble from the perspective of a 386 with 287 FPU, or a 286 with a 287XL.

Holy Monkey Bladders! It's Monkey Island™.
Aye, this better be importan'.
Alex of Apple Lisa fame has done it again!
It looks like there’s now a new floppy emulator for Apple computers!
It’s able to emulate a 400k, 800k, Twiggy (!) and HD20 drives.
Emphasis on the drives - depending on the drive type, it can support multiple disks images. I.E, two 5.25” drives, or two twiggy disks, or four HD20 drives. All off a low cost ESP32! There is no CPLD in sight!
You'll have to endure another shameless job offer from my workplace, but it's a really cool job, so I thought I'd share this:

We're looking for a (Senior) Embedded FPGA Developer (m/w/d).
We're looking for folks with deep knowledge about (Xilinx) FPGAs, PC hardware, Linux. Networking would be a bonus point.
It's a new codebase and I promise it's interesting 😎
Fully remote (in Germany).
For the specific case of The X11 manuals volume 6A I found both the book, the book SOURCES and the example programs here: https://pacific-imperial.com/motif/download/book_download.html
