Interestingly timed accidental kink positivity? :p

Oh god, Coinbase just added oil future trading.

Why the fuck would I want an oven with an "AI camera".

Really wish this function could take a string as a const generic argument...

https://blog.rust-lang.org/inside-rust/2026/08/10/call-for-testing-impl-and-mut-restrictions/

Woah. impl_restriction is neat and all but I didn't realize mut_restriction was even planned and is something I want all the time.

God I hate serde.

Like, you can distinguish between null and missing values with the double option trick, but I want an actual deserialization error on null, and it doesn't seem like you can construct an appropriate error from Deserialize after using it.

Kind of upsetting that there seems to be no way to get serde to treat an explicit null as an error for Option<T>.

Didn't want to faff around with proc macros so I ignored the API trait stuff for now, but at least implementing a similar API versioning mechanism is pretty easy.

Though I again wish it was possible to either implement traits on functions, or at least attach associated constants to them. Attaching metadata without proc macros is kinda.. eh. At least until RFC 3697 gets implemented. (Declarative attribute macros.)

Need to figure out a solution for listening to music in my office without just cranking up the speaker volume in the living room. But I also kinda don't really want to have to faff around with actually getting some cables run over there....

I keep wanting some project to work on but I keep being not interested enough in any of the ideas I have to even start.

So it seems Chicken Scheme ended up changing their "maybe LLM contributions" policy to a "reject all LLM contributions" policy, so maybe...

Kinda like the idea of how Dropshot's API trait thing works in combination with their versioning stuff and the separate API manager thing, but I kinda need tracing support so it's kinda a no-go (for now?).

Wonder how feasible it would be to implement the same idea but on top of axum+utoipa...

In desperate need of cuddles. 😔

Hmph, getting really close to it being necessary for me to replace my old laptop (currently it can only be used hooked up to a monitor and keyboard. 🙃) and I just... have literally no idea of what I'd replace it with.

ThinkPads seem to just get worse and worse in build quality, Framework is a no-go (both for moral reasons and because being limited to having like 4 ports on my laptop is fucking ridiculous), the last time I used a Dell laptop I actively hated its keyboard and their trackpoint implementation... (To be fair though, that was around a decade ago, so they could've improved since then.)

Did you just tell me to fuck myself?

Okay I kinda both hate this typeface and want to start using it?

.oO(Also kind of wish that we could statically allocate the stacks for all of our threads, hmm.)
