I have about 200kg of Electronicon PK16 E50.R16-564N19 560μF 1200V film capacitors. That is half a pallet. Anyone would find a use for them? You just need to pay shipping from DK.

@notjustbikes Can you make a video about Avondvierdaagse? Seems like a nice tradition.

We have twelve old Tektronix TDS3014 oscilloscopes (9-bit ADC) that we need to get rid of from the lab. I would prefer to just give them to students but we cannot do that legally easily. Is anyone interested in purchasing them? Anyone interested? Ideally the whole lot. Location is 🇩🇰 but I can ship them.

New blog post: “Fixing Baselines”.

https://blog.kizu.dev/fixing-baselines/

Do you know how to center things in CSS? In year 2025? Easy! You just… align… or justify…, ok, maybe just place? your content… or items? …Forget it, this post is not about alignment. Or is it?

This post is about another common alignment concept that might seem simple: baseline alignment. In it, I share a technique I have already used for twelve years.

#OpenStreetMap folks, how would you prefer an automated marking of incorrect phone numbers be done?

confusedbuffalo made this nice tool for finding the incorrect numbers: https://confusedbuffalo.github.io/phone-report/ Phone numbers typically miss a digit or have an extra region code when not necessary.

See the relevant discussion: https://github.com/confusedbuffalo/phone-report/issues/42#issuecomment-3474598975

My favourite podcasts @TheWarOnCars and Volts by @volts.wtf made a crossover episode. Both podcasts handle the biggest issues I see in the world currently.

The War on Cars https://thewaroncars.org is about our over-reliance on personal cars.

Volts https://www.volts.wtf is all about energy. How we produce, transform and consume it.

Do give them a listen!

@ivory Will automated fetching of remote replies (from 4.5) just work on Ivory app or do you need to do some changes on your end?

If you don't know the name of a specific part of a device you are operating, in Polish, you can just use a placeholder name: wichajster. This originates from German "wie heißt er?” or “what is it called?”.

Now I wonder if you learn to ride the reverse handlebar bicycle 🚲 will you unlearn to ride a normal bicycle.

PS. If you work in ANY #CAD software I wholeheartedly recommend getting a 3D mouse. Panning and zooming is so much easier than with a scroll wheel and key modifiers.

I use my with #Solidworks but also with #Altium for #electronics work.

The bug I submitted to my 3D mouse manufacturer is now fixed. They fixed it sometimes between September 2022 and now. Don't know when because I did not check for new drivers and they did not notify me.

I could not reverse the axes on the mouse to work in a "camera" mode. That mode somehow clicked with my brain. Now that the bug is fixed I tried reversing the axes and my brain cannot comprehend what is happening. I have absolutely no control.

Slow change is hard to notice. But frequency of occurrence is quite easy to see. Use that to talk about climate change with the “unconvinced”.

It is also a nice project for citizen science. Dig through local sources to find which years a local lake froze.

Is there a way to find old POIs on #openstreetmap? Essentially a map showing when were the features edited last.

Mastodon quietly just got a whole lot better. Right now, especially if you are on a small instance, you don't see all of the discussions and replies. This means that from your point of view you will not see all the replies that other people get. But from their point of view they see people repeating the same stuff over and over. The newly added feature will circumvent that. It is being slowly rolled out so expect your #Mastodon experience to become richer soon.

"Ustawny" as in is an adjective that describes a room that is easy to arrange furniture in.

Do you know any other language this word exists?
