Tech school daughter called me to ask if I could make legs for her bed. Because those are expensive. I told her that sadly, her dad is way less capable at woodworking than her grandpa once was, and grandpa is even more sadly going blind. Instead I recommended Veteranpoolen Ltd., who offer skilled labour by retirees. I'm pretty sure they'll have a local member with a good home workshop.

Imagine a Rod of Seven Parts type scenario informed by real #archaeology. You can sort of predict in which province or large lake each part of the rod has most likely been deposited. But it's completely impossible to locate them after all this time. You end up finding only two rod parts, from different rods, none of them the one you're looking for. 😄

I'm amazed by the very few roads drawn on this continental map for a 1989 Shadow World RPG supplement.

Look how this one deals with the three rivers that debouche along the western shore of the Gefting Inland Sea. It's about 260 km from the N to the S river mouth. The map has no settlements marked. 1/2

34 years into my career, the metal detector hobbyists and my tabletop gaming group have proved way more interested in whether I live or die than any Scandinavian university.

I switched parties 3 years ago, from the Social Democrats to the Former Commies. Not because my opinions had changed: because the Soc Dems were taking xenophobic stances in an obvious attempt to get their working-class male voters back from the Fascists.
