During the oil crisis in the 70s, there used to be car free Sundays.
Today, in order to preserve our mental health and our capacity to interact properly with other human beings and physical objects, I propose a monthly Screen Free Sunday per month.
Only one day per month without smartphone, computer or TV.
What would you think about that?
Would you follow such a recommendation, if many others did so, too?

Ich glaube, Unionspolitiker*innen würden sich auch Nieren im Ausland kaufen, wenn sie denn welche bräuchten.
Manchmal, wenn Leute so nostalgisch an die Vergangenheit denken, erinnere ich mich daran, wie man, wenn man damals die Spülung der Zugtoilette betätigte, unten die Schwellen vorbeihuschen sah, während sich das Heruntergespülte als feiner Dunst über Gärten und Felder entlang der Strecke verteilte.

Ich bin ja mal gespannt, wie das ZDF seinen jüngsten Eingriff in die Kunstfreiheit rechtfertigen wird.
Ich denke, es wird wohl der vermeintliche "Aufruf zu Straftaten" sein, als da wären
- Sachbeschädigung (Sprühen)
- Stalken und Doxxen von Faschos
- Körperverletzung (Faschos ein Bein stellen)

I am currently enrolled in a one year full time course in data science, my class mates' ages are between 26 and 60, and I see them all the time consulting chatbots for their assignments and projects, instead of looking into the course materials or online resources (or God forbid: just try and try again, until things work out), all this whilst 1:1 human tutoring is also available.

I have been reading quite a lot about the supposed intellectual and emotional decline observed in Gen Alpha kids, due to the ubiquity of smartphones, predigested content, lack of personal interaction and similar related malices, and there seems to be some truth to it.
However: I am convinced that all this is not a generational issue, it's a civilisatory one.

I wonder why everyone seems to hate the tags.pub bot so much.
I mean: Until now, there was no way no get a notification if somebody posts something with a hashtag you're subscribed to.
This is a great feature, especially for hashtags with a low number of occurrences, greatly enhancing the value of the Fediverse for information purposes.

Habt ihr in letzter Zeit mal wieder was vom Plan der BuReg gehört, die Wohnungslosigkeit bis 2030 zu beenden?
Ich nicht.

But what, if I were convinced, my thinking organ was my heart, my stomach or my butt?
Would I then "feel" my thoughts there?

I do. I kind of "feel" them in my head.
No surprise, you'll say: Your brain is in your head, after all!
I'd say: This got nothing to do with it. As far as I know, the brain doesn't have any senses of its own. Not even pain.
I reckon, it's because our senses are concentrated in our head, and we then put our imaginary senses, our thoughts, in our brain, too.
But maybe there's another explanation, a cultural one:

Ich konnte nie festnageln, was das genau war. Heute habe ich eine Tessiner (nicht wirklich italienisch, aber so ungefähr) gegessen und ich dachte, dieses spezielle Gewürz könnte Anis und/oder Fenchel sein.
