The "Musk admitted to rigging the election using space lasers" story is making the rounds again, probably because of the forthcoming documentary about him.
Just for the record, though there are vulnerabilities in some US election systems, rigging an election with space lasers (or satellites or whatever) is simply not a thing. It's just not how these things work.
He might as well have "admitted" to rigging the election with voodoo spells.
The GX680 was a fun but very unusual camera that couldn't quite decide what it wanted to be. It was a truly gigantic beast of a medium format SLR camera providing (limited) view camera movements. It used 120-format roll film with a 6x8cm frame (so a 3:4 aspect ratio), with a built-in autowinder. It's sort of what you'd get if you somehow merged a Nikon F4, a Hasselblad, and a Crown Graphic. Definitely not a point & shoot camera.
Fun fact: the Reading was a major northeastern US railroad (made famous internationally by its place on the Monopoly gameboard), which ceded its rail business in 1976 to the newly formed Conrail consortium. But the company kept most of its non-railroad real estate holdings, and today mostly operates cinemas (including NYC's Angelika) in several countries.
(The Reading Company was named for the Pennsylvania city, and so is pronounced like the color, not what you do with words on a page.)

The Pennsylvania Avenue Subway was built to provide a sub-grade freight connection between the Reading Railroad's main line and its "City Branch". It served the Baldwin Locomotive Works' Callowhill plant and, later, the Philadelphia Inquirer's printing plant, among other Center City industries. Abandoned in the 1980's.

So the Court's next ruling here (which could come at any time) will effectively decide whether the new rules will apply to *this* election. But whichever way the Court rules now, the lower court (and, surely, eventually the Supreme Court) will later hear the full case and make a final ruling on the legality of the EO and USPS rules. But that won't be for a while.
Note that the court is not actually being asked to rule on the full merits of the legality of the executive order and USPS rules. That's a long way away.
Rather, this is "just" a procedural matter, but a critically important one. The lower court issued a preliminary injunction against the USPS enforcing the new rules while the case proceeds. The Supreme Court was asked (by the USPS) to overturn that injunction so the rules can take effect for the midterms.
All the filings and responses are in at the Supreme Court for the USPS's request for a stay of the lower court's injunction that prohibits it from enforcing the new postal voting rules. I believe at this point the next step will the court's ruling, which will come when it comes.

If previous years are any indication, these tend to make me fairly useless about 12 hours after the injection, for about 12 hours, so I just lean into it and treat the couple of days after as dead time. No operating heavy machinery for me this weekend! (Or most weekends, actually).
Made my appointment for my updated Covid (and also flu) jabs today. Some local pharmacies had very limited avability and slots, which is actually encouraging if it means there's high demand.
The Apple watch has long had audio recording capabilities. In 2018, Jamal Khashoggi (the journalist assassinated at the Saudi embassy in Istanbul) may or may not have used his smartwatch to transmit live audio of his abduction (though the facts are in dispute).
A decade later and it's even more complicated now.

I'm curious about what's required to activate this feature. Does it have to be switched on for each recording (in which case, it's not terribly different from the audio record feature already on most phones) or is it always on by default?
In any case, users of these devices should probably acquaint themselves with 18 USC § 2511 (https://www.law.cornell.edu/uscode/text/18/2511), which could make it unlawful to leave your new iPhone unattended, as well as state laws that sometimes require all-party consent.
I suppose I have to wait for the iPhone Trio, with three narrower panels (if they can make such a thing thin enough).
I think if I were someone who likes the Pro Max form factor for phones, I'd be more tempted by the Duo.
