Ugh, $office is closing on the 31st and people are STILL WORKING from that location.
FUCK YOU I NEED TO MIGRATE THE ETERNAL IP THIS WEEKEND
I have preceded to kill remaining VMs in that site. Look, If facilities and the office manager actually did their jobs, people would have moved out by July30.
i hate $job sometimes.

TIL: TRIM on SSDs is disabled on linux when using LUKS
Yet another reason to despise newfangled Web*** frameworks.
Introducing WebGPU
Let a website use GPU specific API stuff to do GPU things in the browser.
A: why the fuck would I trust a website to use my GPU as they see fit?
B: See above
Wifey was trying to do shopping things on the linux machine, as 99.999% of the time chrome on linux seems to work fine for her. (Chrome use is a different topic, and out of scope for this thread)
Enter WebGPU.
Shopping site: i.e.: FUCK YOU BOT
Doing a lot of fucking around with user agents and the like, the error stems from WebGPU not being fully fleshed out on linux version of chrome, so the website takes the WebGPU error as a signature of bot detection.
chrome://settings/system to disable gpu acceleration solves this problem.
I mean, WHAT THE FUCK. The internet is a shit show, and the chrome experience is a glorified ad platform. I still have ublock origin, privacy badger, and a few others to keep that garbage at bay, but damn chrome sucks. That and websites trying to use Web*** frameworks as REQUIRED operations.

Fucking rPi flashers? USE WEB SERIAL
esp based things? USE WEB USB
shopping for shoes? WebGPU
damnit, i just want firmware bin files and html pages

Palo Alto Cortex XDR: Unusual VPN activity from AS12345
Palo Alto NGFW: What the fuck is an AS?
You run a network, and like all offices, you have RFC1918 address space for internal IPv4 stuff:
Provide a null route to RFC1918 subnets you don't have. No legit user using internal services should be hitting those null routes.
A: sending rfc1918 traffic to your ISP is a dick move, don't.
B: anyone doing scans will hit this rule
Right now, my log files expose our Cortex XDR broker VM doing full subnet scans of ranges that dont have routes.... about 20 users are trying to connect to their home printers on port 9100, and a few users are trying to connect to their tor routers and zerotier nodes that don't exist locally in the office.
Null routes can be a great information source.
@Viss I'm still dealing with the fallout of our CEO using their appleID to open the apple account for the company.
Then you have places like broadcom that explicitly ban the use of group accounts like it@org[.]com on their support sites.
It's amazing computers work* at all
(* - for various meanins of the term work)
