With so many, ahem, load-bearing, open source and even specifically Linux projects out there, why the fuck is a distribution which is basically Arch + ricing + default applications collecting millions of dollars?
Even if you find this to be a flippant description of Omarchy, the only reason to support it over literally hundreds of other choices is to embrace Nazism. https://pesos.github.io/2020/07/14/what-is-ricing.html
I don't know which phone I want or what I want to do now that the Upgrade program is over.
This episode of Ted Lasso was on its way to being my favorite until they dropes my absolute least favorite trope.

figured I'd repost this since it didn't post originally because I broke crossposting.

Weird consequence of adding a reply to link footer and my crossposting system grabbing links.
Finally booked time back in Mexico City for a few weeks this winter.

I'm pretty sure I now have more lines of code looking at who is hitting my RSS feeds than it took to get the entire v1 of this blog running. It's close.
Now that I'm reviewing logs for RSS feed fetching I can say with a lot of confidence there are a ton of bots and bad internet citizens out there. It might be a complete fool's errand to try and estimate subscribers on my own based on what I can gather. It's kind of obvious why whole services cropped up to do just this back in the Web 2.0 days.
I finally fixed the emails so they don't look terrible. I also started tracking approximate RSS subscribers. My "readers" are awesome: 100 RSS subscribers, and just me subscribed to email (as a test).
Outside Baltimore is no longer trying to kill me, so of course I am flying to Dallas tomorrow.
Blessed to be unpopular enough to mention AI on Mastodon and Bluesky and for no one to give a shit.

There are things in our world today that demand we take sides. It also seems this fact "trains" us that we need to take sides in all things. That's probably not the best lesson.
Hulu suddenly started showing ads. What the fuck, I’ve had ad-free Hulu since it existed. So I have to go to my computer, of course, to figure out what’s going on with the account. Apparently, I was on a “legacy bundle” that somehow became “Disney+ Ad-Free, Hulu (with ads) and ESPN+” for $25 a month. I never use ESPN+, and apparently, I can get both Hulu and Disney+ ad-free for $19.99 a month on a non-legacy bundle.
Tonight’s frustration turned into saving $5 a month. I guess it’s fine.
Imma need Github to get its shit together for the rest of 2026.
Last night was a big "oh shit" moment for me-- the book I'm reading is getting very good, but its main character is being treated very poorly and setup for very bad things to happen before anything good can happen. And it's the first book. Of a likely trilogy. With the follow ups unpublished.
This one is going to end with me feeling very down about the state of the world its creating.
This Reddit post is about the coolest anyone has looked playing bass. It somehow has many replies, none of which are Paz Lenchantin putting her hair up during the Judith music video, which my be the moment I realize, "Oh, I definitely like women." https://www.reddit.com/r/fantanoforever/s/lCY3X7nxj5
