This is on an 80's Peugeot, with 6 sp freewheel, Shimano Tiagra derailleur, and friction shifting. I took it apart to clean and didn't note which was which, thinking they were the same. If I were to guess, the narrow one (right) goes closer to cassette since it has less of a bearing? The other (left) going "outside" with chain load from front ring coming into it.
Anyone know for sure?

Family bike ride on the rail trail for mom's day. Forecast had less than 15% chance of rain and the path tracking across radar showed a storm system going well north of our route. Who would have expected an icy finger of rain to extend south and smite us??

Since the isotopes decay relatively quickly this isn't something the medical center can keep on hand. The specialized radioactive isotopes are made before the appointment, down in Massachusetts, and driven up in a metal (lead?) lined suitcase. Even the syringe is encased in thick metal to protect the technician. Afterwards they suggest drinking lots of fluids to help flush it out. 🤨

Ready to face the coming week.

PET scan tomorrow, first since radiation therapy last Fall. We'll get to see how the tumor has fared and if anything new has developed. First off, injected with a radioactive isotope laced copper 64Cu dotatate then, after an hour of it circulating, off to a specialized CT/PET scan.

The isotopes undergo beta plus decay and a positron is emitted, which hits an electron causing two gamma rays to shoot out in opposite directions hitting scintillating crystals which cameras pick up and a computer triangulates into a 3 dimensional location. I mistakenly call it a proton or photon, mostly I just like to say scintillating crystals.
It's not exactly a radioactive spider bite, but rumors have it that legs get a little stronger for mt biking.

Ran across 2004 post when I was working on a portable digital audio recorder, learning Assembly, trying to get more performance. Added GPIO triggers to visualize what/when parts of code ran on the analyzer.

The picture depicts life over the last week, staring at logic analyzer timings and trying to shave microseconds.
Microseconds don't seem like much, but waste a hundred of them a few million times and by golly you are starting to talk seconds and minutes! Down in the land of nano seconds a microsecond looks truly opulent.
Which reminds me of a product idea. The Nano Shave Bot (NSB). The NSB spends its time parked next to a facial hair (perhaps stretched out on a lounge chair drinking Pico Coladas) and whenever that facial hair gets too tall the bot whips out a nano chain saw and chops it down. Alternately the Nano Shave Bot could power itself by eating whisker 24x7, with a hair over-reduction algorithm that prevents it from going sub-dermal.
