Proud parent moment:

Daughter: "Dad, I found a movie I want to watch, since I think it's really funny!"
Me: "What is it called?"
Daughter: "Some name followed by 'and the holy grail'".
Me: *snaps awake* "Monty Python?!"
Daughter: "Yeah, that was it!"
Me: *smiling* "We'll watch it together, OK?"

One of the most annoying feelings is meeting someone you haven’t seen in a while and you think you remember their name but you’re not 100% certain, because what do you do? Ask what their name is, just in case you’re wrong? But then you look like a dork who can’t remember people’s names, and if you’re right you can’t say “oh yes, that’s what I thought” because that’s just lame. On the other hand, confidently calling someone by what forms out to be the wrong name is just plain embarrassing.
