(Not that ITV was ever a great channel, but…)
Well, looks like ITV is about to get a lot worse!

HOLY FUCK, how is it taking until 2026 before Download Festival gets its first female-fronted headline band?!? 😒

"For 25 years, Google Search was built on a contract. The web provided the content – billions of pages, freely linked, freely crawled. In return, Google sent people back. The link was the unit of exchange. [...]
That contract is now broken. Generative UI doesn’t link to your article. It absorbs your article, synthesizes it into a widget, and presents it as Google’s own answer. Information agents don’t send users to websites." —@matthiasott
BBC News: UK loosens Russian oil sanctions as fuel prices rise
So, we're not that serious about sanctioning Russia, then? 🤨
BIIRD seem like a cool group. An Irish trad band, but all women _and_ wearing funkier/gothier corsetry, eye liner and mixing in dark tones.
It would be very New Tories to say "No, don't work with the moderates and liberals in a cross-party coalition where we can still be The Right-wing Party. You need to lean in to the reactionary racists who can out-bigotry us at every turn!"
I guess they're probably upset that they formed a coalition with moderates and liberals, rather than leaning harder into bigotry and partnering with racist Reform.
Because it's not like they're getting any power on their own!
Good to see that central Tories are being so very Tory 😐
Worcestershire County Council agrees a Con-Lib-Green-Indy coalition (presumably to keep Reform out) and then apparently Badenoch is "aghast", tells them it isn't approved and suspends the local Tory leader 🙄
Last archive of the old subdomain: https://web.archive.org/web/20050324022201/http://hiveworldterra.ibboard.co.uk/ (minus a lot of its styling!)
The name dates back to 2002 🧓
My HiveWorldTerra.co.uk domain turned TWENTY ONE last weekend!
It's still going. And I'm still hosting a terrible write-up that I did about my websites 20 years ago (https://www.hiveworldterra.co.uk/Article/view_HappyBirthdayHiveWorldTerra.html) and a more detailed "history" article that I wrote in 2015 (https://www.hiveworldterra.co.uk/Article/view_TheHistoryOfHiveWorldTerra.html) 😬
[Insert "turning to dust" GIF]
(I've got it in my calendar as "HWT Birthday (2005)" but the write-up and news items are older because I used to have hiveworldterra.ibboard.co.uk before that)
Does anyone have any good recommendations on things to put in an `llms.txt` file on your website? Apparently it's a pseudo-standard now and LLMs may read it to get a "better understanding" of your website before processing it.
My current content is here: https://ibboard.co.uk/llms.txt
"Wales election results 2026: Eluned Morgan quits as Welsh Labour leader after losing seat as Plaid make historic gains" - BBC News
My son is hopefully going to Cardiff University in September. And Wales have had the sense to vote Plaid instead of Reform (still a lot of Reform gains, but not enough).
Maybe we need to move to Wales? Seems like a sensible country. Or Scotland. They're still mainly SNP and no Reform (yet).
"I love woodworking so much that I now tell robots to assemble flat pack furniture" said no carpenter every.
"I love baking so much that I started buying cakes from the shop and smashing them together" said no baker ever.
"I love painting miniatures so much that I now just kit-bash parts that my 3D printer already printed in the correct colours" said no wargamer ever.
So why are there software engineers like this? 🤨
A colleague shared an AI Developer talk in the work Slack channels. The speaker talks about how they're SO excited about software development now.
They also said (in the same presentation) "now you're an AI agent manager".
I feel sorry for the kind of person who gets that excited about delegating work to mindless drones that it's the best time they've had in decades 😐
It must be the pachinko machine effect of "push button, get outcome (which is sometimes good - or at least acceptable)".
I like https://tags.pub. it always boosts my hashtagged posts, so I can feel like I said something that people care about!

Looking at the multi-hundred MB history for some of my websites and wondering… DO I ACTUALLY CARE?!
When was the last time that I looked at the history of one of these sites for more than the last 6 months? Or, in some cases, ever?
It's literally mostly there for "Did I screw it up? Ooops, revert that recent change" (plus easy-ish deployment in a known state)
I love that Paramore made a long song. You don't get enough long songs these days.
It builds so well. The instrumental parts really get going at 3mins, but you've got plenty of Hayley Williams up to that point.
Starting to rewatch Stargate SG1.
Watched several series before. Probably around where it came out. As did my wife. But we need a new series to watch.
S1E1 from Netflix on a big 4K TV looks… awful!
