Built in 2011, "Caesura" has been hanging in the rafters of the shed, unused, since 2018. Had to wash off a thick layer of bird and bat guano, sweep out mouse nests, and touch up a couple of nicks in the varnish.
She still looks pretty despite the neglect.
If all goes well, she'll get her feet wet again in a few days. Headed to St. Mikes to see old friends.
The adventure continues . . .

Lotus. The seeds came with family from Thailand in a suitcase. Sprouted in a mason jar.
Peach season in the local orchard.
Little snake skin on the steps. It’s rare to find the face intact. They rub their nose on a rough rock to start the peel, then wriggle forward through the opening like peeling off a stocking. So this is the snake inside out.

Back in college, my buddy said in early summer you can hear the corn grow. It shoots up so fast it squeaks. I said BS.
So one night we thrashed our way into a big fleld, far from the road where it was quiet, and knelt down to listen.
And he was right!
But we failed to note how we got there. Wandered through that maze of maize in the dark for hours before stumbling out a half mile down the road, – scared, sweaty, dirty, and tired.
That was a good night.

Went for a sail in the mountains. Technical and challenging with the gusts careening off the hills and tall trees, but the views are amazing.
