...But that moody weather did mean I simply had to pull over and look briefly at good old Torness, just before the rain began!
If it had been maybe 20 minutes later there might have been a bit more glow to the place, but I'm sure I'll be back there again for such a shot, one day!
Ever-decreasing weather quality meant yesterday's #AmperSand was made in a bit of a rush!

The last detail about Colom's race I dig into is that Biden initially nominated him for a Federal Judgeship but Senator Cindy Hyde-Smith blocked his confirmation.
Had she confirmed him... she wouldn't have had to take him on in this race at all.
But instead Colom didn't back down and he ran for Hyde's seat instead.
Winning by razor thin margins.
Anyways, I'm gonna stop praising Senator Colom and posting his ads but god all of his ads feel like skits my cousins in the south made.
Just stupidly down to earth and asking the sorts of questions that even MAGA voters genuinely might ask.
Why is this race such an interesting one to watch?
Scott managed to flipped a key conservative Mississippi district where people are so fucking racist they named their county in honor of the KKKs first grand wizard.
I've been reviewing Scott Colom's ad campaign today and I'm VERY impressed with his range. He really nails both high end high production ads
When you've earned trust, you have earned the right to sit with new friends
But if the new friends sit high in a tree where you cannot reach, do you forfeit the right?
Not if the new friends go out of their way to take you to a special tree they know where you can also sit, and patiently walk with you rather than easily fly
Another photo from this morning’s brief burst of sunlight. This late autumn light with dark skies is always one of my favorite things about living on a lake.

Dear non-crafters.
Please stop suggesting that hobby crafters who do things simply for the love of it start selling their work. It is not the compliment you think it is. It's like seeing someone with children and saying "wow your children are not misbehaving. You should consider being a babysitter. People would pay you for that.".
Sincerely, someone who was told yet again that I should monetize the hobby that I use to escape capitalism.

Stellar observation by @druidic.org@bsky.brid.gy on the use of AI to "tidy up" property listing photos. Even though the interior photos of this place are literal birdshit. Street names changed, bins, bollards and street furniture removed, business name of "Libyan Oasis" changed to "Happy Apple" +more 🔍

Apparently it’s #defaidodonday?
Good grief these people need to watch some more rugby. Or Touch, even.

Mississippi Dems are in it to win it! Check your ballot status through https://votefromabroad.org (ballots can still be cured for most issues). If your ballot hasn't arrived yet, let us know!
The afternoon's listening while I rearrange a document and do some colouring in.
DJ Yoda at his DJ Yoda-est.
So I'm thinking of my very brief but nonetheless amazing experiences there. It is a place which deserves to have and get and keep so much more. Go visit and give it some of your own attention and engagement.
Mississippi hasn't had a black senator since 1881.
I'm watching the count very, very closely.
Anyway, what a night.
What a gig.
What a town.
Where did we stay? Oh, we stayed in the 'Howlin' Wolf' room of the Riverside Hotel, The former motel/hospital where Bessie Smith died after a car crash. The only place for miles where touring black musicians were allowed to stay, for years. They hosted EVERYBODY.
...And the owner had some of the best chat on her I've ever encountered. What a privilege to meet her and learn about that place's history.
